Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America is committed to supporting educational programs that foster the exchange of scientific and clinical information and improve patient care.

We are currently receiving and reviewing grant funding requests for independent, objective, educational programs and activities that provide legitimate education of healthcare professionals and/or the public in the therapeutic areas of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Currently, Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America, Inc. is not accepting any medical education grant requests for Parkinson's Disease, Erythropoietic Protoporphyria (EPP) and X-Linked Protoporphyria (XLP). Please visit our website for future updates.

Please note, regardless of therapeutic area, grants should be submitted 90 days or more prior to the program start date.

Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America’s educational grants must comply with the applicable requirements, guidelines, or standards issued by the Food and Drug Administration, the Office of Inspector General, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the American Medical Association, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), and other nationally-recognized accrediting bodies.

Grant requests may come from academic institutions, state or national medical associations or societies, disease foundations and associations, patient associations, or other educational providers. For academic institutions, the University Grants Office should apply for the grant, rather than an individual department or research group. Grants will not be given to individuals. Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America does not fund noneducational expenses.

Preference will be given to requests that are ACCME accredited, contain an educational needs assessment, and propose to evaluate post-program educational outcomes. Grants should be submitted 90 days or more prior to the program start date.

Each request for an educational grant must include:

  1. Description of the program, activities, and objectives
  2. Timing
  3. Location
  4. Audience
  5. Expected number of attendees
  6. Detailed budget for allocation of funds
  7. CE/CME accreditation information (if applicable)
  8. W-9 (or W-8 if applicable)
  9. IRS letter of determination/501c3 (if applicable)
  10. Supporting documents

Upon completion of the educational program, recipients should submit financial reconciliations and outcomes reports within 60 (sixty) days of the conclusion of the program. Any portion of the Grant Funds remaining after the Program will be returned to MTPA.

All funding requests for Educational Grants must be independently submitted through the MTPA grants website.
